The Ready Room
Ready Room was established in 2018 by the Partnership of Ken Bridge (Highly Regarded Houston Area Restauranteur) & Peter Clifton (A renowned Houston Bartender) and was originally known as "Reddi Room" in 1941, named after the Reddi Family. This place was once known for its roots in the national blues movement, as musicians came from all Six Wards of Houston to play at Reddi Room. Our mission is to preserve this history through local Jazz Music, Cocktails, and the fellowship of all people. We will make a memory with you.

Houston based saxophonist Eddie Matthews started the band Tribeca as a way to honor both Houston’s rich musical History and The Ready Room which it calls home. The Band’s name is a bit of an inside joke. NYC is known worldwide as the center of Jazz. A Lot of NYC’s most in-
demand players have Houston roots. Tribeca, a district in Manhattan, seemed like a cool way to honor this fact and reference the band and it's origins as a Trio.
Even though the band started off as a Trio it has expanded to a 4-5 piece on any given night. The style of music ranges from R&B, Rock, and Funk to Latin. “From the day we started playing
at the Ready Room we realized The Bar’s clientele were as diverse as Houston as a city is. It only seemed right to make our music reflect this” Eddie says.
While the band members all have a Jazz Background, the point of the project is to breathe life into contemporary music. Eddie explains, “Jazz was once popular music. The sound you associate with Jazz were just ways for the musicians to more intimately communicate with each other and the audience. We do the same thing through taking modern songs you’ll hear on the radio and adding Jazz structure”.
